Acerca de Jo
Hello everyone! My name is Jo, and I'm really excited to be your English teacher.
I'm originally from the UK, but I now live in Spain with my family. I've always loved working with people, and teaching English gives me the opportunity to help others achieve their goals, whether that's passing an exam, improving their career prospects, travelling with confidence, or simply enjoying conversations in English.
For me, learning a language is about much more than memorising grammar and vocabulary. It's about connecting with people, exploring new cultures, and opening doors to opportunities you may never have imagined. That's why I create lessons that are interactive, practical, and enjoyable, where everyone feels comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.
I'm passionate about helping my students build confidence and discover that they can communicate successfully in English. Seeing someone go from feeling nervous to speaking with confidence is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
I'm also interested in personal development, life coaching & NLP which I can incorporate into lessons & help my students get the most out of their learning experience.

My primary teaching approach is based on the Communicative Approach, using the Presentation, Practice, Production (PPP) framework. I believe that people learn a language by using it, so I always aim to maximise Student Talking Time in my lessons. For example, I might introduce a new grammar point in context, check understanding with a short, focused practice activity, and then move quickly into a more communicative task, such as a mock interview or a group problem-solving activity. This helps students move beyond simply memorising language and gives them the confidence to use English naturally in real-life situations.
