Acerca de Ana Maria
Hey there! My name is Ana. I'm a Colombian native with a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and Communication. I also hold certifications for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language. With +10 years of professional experience in Journalism and Marketing, I have ample knowledge on 'how to better communicate' and I can share with you all the necessary practical skills to do this in a new language. Languages have always been a part of my life. I learned English at a young age and later went on to study Portuguese, French, and Korean. As a language student myself, I can absolutely relate to the frustration that may happen when learning something new and it's hard to grasp. So, I am completely understanding and patient, and will make sure you really "got it" before moving on. Please, ask away all the questions you like, be it grammar, pronunciation differences, cultural curiosities, I'll be more than happy to explain anything you need. I'm looking forward to our next lesson!

These online lessons are designed for adults and can start from the very basic, all the way to an intermediate level. And if you already have some knowledge in Spanish but need to improve/strengthen where you feel you might be lacking, we can have conversation sessions where I will give you tips on how to continue advancing your writing, listening, or speaking. If you are starting from the very beginning, we will be working with personalized learning material, explained in English to help you get a better grasp on the difficult concepts. We will also use "real life" material, such as video and audio interviews, TV show clips, news clippings, and more. Also, remember that learning a language is also learning about culture and different mindsets, so we will also be taking some time to understand cultural differences, and maybe even share our own stories about faux pas in different countries. Spanish is as colorful as the countries where it's spoken. I'll be honest: I cannot have you speaking fluently in 3 months, but I will definitely help you learn practical skills to better communicate in this new language in corporate and education settings, and in everyday speaking as well, for tourism or just to talk casually to friends.
