Acerca de Miguel
I hold a degree in Fine Arts and the Certificate of Pedagogical Adaptation, CAP, which is the official teaching qualification in Spain.
I combine my vocation for teaching with my work as a professional illustrator, developing my own book projects, illustrating stories and textbooks for publishers, and documentaries for television.
Recently, I presented a retrospective exhibition of some of my illustrations in Lyon, France.
My teaching background adds up to more than 16 years of classroom experience. I have worked for 14 school years running a municipal drawing and painting workshop, and 2 years as a Plastic and Visual Education teacher in formal secondary education.
I believe this double facet as a teacher-illustrator allows me to understand the craft from the inside and pass it on in a real and close way.

I have been teaching for many years. My greatest satisfaction has always been clearing away fears, deactivating those invisible levers that prevent you from understanding something clearly.
Years ago, there were areas in art that continuously resisted me, where I wanted to reach a certain level; portraiture or watercolor, among them. I was —and still am— one of those people who pause videos of virtuosos, telling myself: "I want to understand how this guy thinks so I can do what he does". Over the years, I understood that to get somewhere I had to, besides practicing a lot, know academic methods and techniques inside out.
With all this, I do not mean that I consider myself a rigid teacher; I know that every student is a world. I just wanted to explain that if something resists you, with determination and effort, I probably know the way for you to understand it and apply it.
However, I have some bad news and some good news for you:
The bad news is that in all my experience I have not yet met a single miracle: good results came from students who had practiced and remained consistent.
The good news is that, as mere mortals, and while our true ability arrives, we are almost obliged to enjoy the process, the class itself. It is our turn to mess up a lot —only gods do not make mistakes— and learn to get frustrated, because no achievement tastes good without effort.
Techniques: Drawing from life, portraiture, anatomy, perspective, illustration, or painting (whether oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, or colored pencils).
At your own pace: Individual or group classes, but always with personalized guidance.
Who are they for?Anyone who wants to learn. I adapt to all ages: from children looking for a dynamic and fun approach, to adults who want to relax and distract themselves, or students who need to prepare a technical portfolio or exams.

Miguel es un gran profesional y artista, y un buen amigo. Nos conocimos en unas clases de dibujo en el Museo de la Naturaleza y el Hombre de Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Luego tuvimos un reencuentro y tomé clases particulares de acuarela con él y puedo decir que me sirvieron de mucho.
Yo ya dibujaba, pero no había pintado en acuarela y el método que me enseñó me ayudó a mejorar mi técnica. A veces hemos salido juntos a dibujar del natural y puedo decir que es una gran persona. Hoy tengo una cuenta en Instagram donde publico mis obras y es seguida por muchos artistas, y parte de lo que he conseguido con ello se lo debo a Miguel.Miguel me enseñó a pintar con acrílico con un método que me resultó sencillo y fácil de entender. Algunas de nuestras sesiones fueron a distancia y esto no fue una barrera porque Miguel consiguió mantener mi motivación con método, paciencia y buen humor. Hoy me siento muy orgullosa de mis pinturas. Un superprofe que recomiendo a todo el mundo. ¡Gracias, Miguel!
