Acerca de Audrey

Hi! I'm Audrey, an American tutor living in Barcelona with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, specializing in Neuroscience, and a Master's degree in Research in Behaviour and Cognition from the University of Barcelona.

My academic background has given me a strong interest in how people learn, develop new skills, and retain information. I've also gained experience working with students through English tutoring, and I really enjoy helping others overcome challenges and feel more confident in their abilities.

Having completed my own studies in both the United States and Spain, I understand the challenges that come with different educational environments, demanding coursework, and finding study methods that actually work.

I'm patient, organized, and approachable, and I believe that a supportive learning environment can make a huge difference in a student's motivation and progress. I take the time to understand each student's strengths, challenges, and goals so that I can adapt my teaching style to their individual needs.

Whether your child needs help staying on top of homework, preparing for exams, or developing better study habits, or you're a university student looking for academic guidance, my goal is to make learning feel more manageable and enjoyable.

I want my students to leave each lesson not only understanding the material better, but also feeling more confident in their ability to succeed independently.

I look forward to helping you reach your academic goals!

My approach to tutoring is based on the idea that every student learns differently, and finding the right learning strategies can make a huge difference in both academic performance and confidence.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a focus on Neuroscience and a Master's degree in Research in Behaviour and Cognition from the University of Barcelona. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of how people learn, remember information, and develop effective study habits, which I incorporate into my tutoring sessions.

I aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's individual needs. Rather than focusing solely on memorization, I encourage students to develop critical thinking skills, understand concepts more deeply, and become more independent and confident learners.

**My teaching approach includes:**
- **Personalized academic support:** Helping students understand challenging material, complete homework, and strengthen areas where they may be struggling.
- **Effective study techniques:** Introducing strategies such as active recall, spaced repetition, and organization techniques to improve learning and retention.
- **Homework and assignment guidance:** Breaking down complex tasks into manageable steps and encouraging students to find solutions independently.
- **Building confidence and motivation:** Creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.
- **Exam preparation:** Helping students review material, organize their notes, create study plans, and prepare for upcoming assessments.

**What does a typical lesson look like?**

I usually begin by checking in with the student about their current assignments, upcoming exams, or any topics they're finding difficult. We then work together on the areas that need the most attention, using explanations, practical examples, and interactive exercises. Toward the end of the lesson, we review what we've covered and identify strategies the student can use to continue practicing independently.

**Who are my lessons for?**

I offer academic support to primary and secondary school students, as well as university students who need help with study techniques, academic organization, or subjects related to psychology and research.

My lessons are particularly well suited to students who want to improve their study habits, feel more confident in school, or develop skills that will help them succeed academically in the long term.

Above all, I want students to feel supported, motivated, and capable of reaching their academic goals. I believe learning should be a positive experience, and my goal is to help each student discover what works best for them!
